Burgess Mee, the leading family law firm, is pleased to announce the appointment of Susie Barter as a partner. he joins the firm today from Child & Child, where she was a partner and head of the family law team.

 

With more than 30 years’ experience in family law, Susie specialises in advising high- and ultra-high-net-worth individuals in complex financial remedy cases – including cross-border issues and complex asset structures – and in children matters.

 

A trained mediator and collaborative lawyer, she also advises families on wealth protection structures including pre- and post-nuptial agreements and co-habitation agreements.

 

Her clients have included landowners, business owners and entrepreneurs, politicians, sports people, medics, lawyers, and those in the arts and entertainment industry – both in the UK and overseas.

Before joining Child & Child in 2023, Susie ran her own family law practice, Percival Rose & Co Ltd. She previously worked at Manches (now Pennington Manches Cooper), Farrer & Co. and Speechly Bircham (now Charles Russell Speechlys),having trained at Stephenson Harwood. She also spent two years as judicial assistant in the Court of Appeal and family lawyer to Lady Butler-Sloss in the High Court Family Division.
