Strategic and timely advice is essential if a matter involves a cross-border element. International disputes are often complicated, involving tax or trust issues or disputes about the location of court proceedings. We have experience of complex international matters and access to a network of overseas lawyers who can assist if separate advice is required from another jurisdiction. We will work collaboratively with your team of international advisers.

If you are a foreign national living in the UK or a British national living overseas, our team of lawyers and mediators can help with your family law issues. These might include entering into a prenuptial agreement before marriage, the financial issues arising on relationship breakdown, and/or the arrangements for any children and where they should live and be educated.

We can help you with your family law matter involving:

  • Complex cross border disputes including relocations
  • Issues regarding location of court proceedings (jurisdiction)
  • International pre and post nuptial agreements
  • Disputes over international assets and businesses
  • Cross border modern family issues

We have particular expertise in Anglo-French disputes.

International modern families

Our specialist modern families practice frequently receives referrals from couples and clinics located abroad and can advise you about the next steps in a discrete, sensitive way.

Our Anglo-French practice

We have specialist English lawyers who have significant expertise in navigating the differences between the family justice systems in England and France. Three partners in the team are French speakers – Rachel Freeman, Kirsty Morris and Peter Burgess. Antonia Mee has significant experience in representing French clients living in London.
