Lucy is an experienced New Zealand solicitor who recently made the move to London to progress her career in family law. Lucy joined Burgess Mee in November 2025 as a paralegal to gain firsthand experience in English family law.

Previously, Lucy worked as a solicitor in the family team at one of New Zealand’s leading commercial law firms, ranked as a Legal 500 firm and Leading (First Tier) Family and Relationship firm by the Doyles Guide. During this time Lucy developed expertise in all areas of family law including financial disputes, pre and post nuptial arrangements, arrangements for children, domestic abuse and surrogacy matters. She appeared regularly in the Family Court for her clients and as junior counsel to senior barristers and King’s Counsel. Lucy has also published articles in the New Zealand Law Society Family Advocate magazine.

Lucy completed her Bachelor of Law & Bachelor of Arts (majoring in Communications and Criminology) conjoint degree at the University of Auckland in 2021. She was then admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor at the Auckland High Court in March 2022. In 2023 Lucy worked as a legal intern at the European Parliament in Brussels. Lucy always knew that she wanted to be a family lawyer. She is dedicated to helping her clients in providing practical advice during what can be the most challenging time in their lives whilst always offering a professional level of empathy. She is particularly passionate about promoting a constructive and conciliatory approach to family law cases.

Outside of work, Lucy is enjoying London life and living abroad. She loves to travel and experience new places. Lucy also enjoys going for walks with a good coffee, cooking, and listening to music (mainly The Beatles).
