About Susie

Susie has guided individuals and families through the trauma of relationship breakdown for more than thirty years. Her practice covers the full breadth of family law - divorce and separation, unmarried couples, financial settlements and matters relating to children together with wealth protection measures including nuptial and co-habitation agreements. Susie works with domestic and international clients, many of whom have complex asset structures and may face complications arising from international relocation. Others have challenging family dynamics that require particularly sensitive handling. All have the desire to keep family matters private.

Susie brings a wealth of family law experience from both top ranked and boutique family law teams and time spent working with judges in the Court of Appeal and High Court Family Division. A decade spent managing her own firm required commercial awareness over and above general legal practice, experience further broadened by Susie’s voluntary roles including Charity Trustee, Governor and Chair of Governors at a private prep school.

A trained mediator and collaborative lawyer, Susie is solution focused and adept at both finding workable outcomes for her clients and leading a process designed to achieve them.

She is known for her ability to manage complex and seemingly intractable disputes, preventing the unnecessary escalation of conflict and bringing calm and clarity to any situation.

She works closely with her clients to foster a relationship of mutual trust, ensuring they feel both heard and advised. This allows some, at times, frank conversations - whether in a one-off strategy meeting, providing background support to private negotiations or leading complex litigation. Clients describe being re-assured, supported and meticulously prepared whilst trusting implicitly that the advice they receive centres around the needs of their family and how best to protect them in the circumstances of a legal dispute.

Susie’s clients are personally referred to her and come from a wide range of backgrounds - business and landowners, legal and financial professionals, medics, sports people and those in the entertainment industry (performance and production), military and security services personnel, politicians and peers - and their friends, families and colleagues.

When Susie is not working you will usually find her with her family, dog and horses and, as often as possible, spending time at home and abroad with friends.
